Identifying available roof planes. Shading analysis.

There are few ways to identify planes, suitable for installing solar panels. One of them is shading analysis: sun path simulation in SketchUp. We usually apply for panels unshaded area for 10 AM till 3 PM day period during March, 15 - October, 31 year period. Actually, to examine full period, enough to generate last day sun path (Oct, 31; 10:00 - 15:00.)

First incarnated design

Nothing is more inspiring than realized project. Daniel Williams from "Powerfully Green" (Minnesota) sent me a picture of installed 5 kW Photovoltaic system, which we designed in March. I made a video, showing design process. In addition, Daniel tells about sun conditions in MN, decreasing installation cost and sharing his vision on going solar.
